Integrative Multi-System Psychiatric Assessment
Psychological well-being is influenced by multiple interconnected systems, including medical, psychiatric, psychological, social, behavioral, lifestyle, cultural, and spiritual factors. With training in traditional psychiatry, psychoanalysis, and primary care medicine, Dr. Matsuki takes an integrative approach to understand the full context of each patient’s concerns and develops a comprehensive, multi-system treatment plan to address them.
We conducts the initial assessment over one to two sessions, each lasting approximately 60 minutes. This comprehensive evaluation includes an in-depth discussion of your current symptoms, present stressors, mental health history, medical history, and life experiences. When appropriate, diagnostic testing may be recommended to determine whether underlying medical conditions could be contributing to psychiatric symptoms, and to identify potential nutritional deficiencies that may be addressed through supplements and lifestyle modifications.
After the evaluation is completed, we will review a personalized treatment plan with you. This may include recommendations regarding treatment frequency and therapeutic approaches such as medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, exercise, dietary modifications, nutritional supplements, and treatment of any underlying medical conditions. If a particular treatment falls outside the scope of his practice, he will refer you to an appropriate specialist.

Medication Management
We have extensive training and experience with a wide range of psychiatric medications and carefully considers the most appropriate options for each patient. When medication is recommended, he generally aims to use the lowest effective dose to help restore balanced mental and emotional functioning.
We work collaboratively with patients to develop an individualized treatment plan. Some patients benefit from medication management alone, while others may receive a combination of medication and psychotherapy depending on their needs.
Psychotherapy
While medications can help reduce the severity of symptoms, they are often only one part of the overall treatment process. In many cases, ongoing psychotherapy, along with appropriate medication management and education about treatment, is essential for achieving the best possible outcome.
Psychotherapy offers a safe, confidential, and supportive environment where patients can explore their thoughts and emotions, gain deeper insight into themselves, and work toward meaningful changes in their lives.
We are trained to help individuals with a wide range of psychological conditions understand and address complex emotional and relationship patterns, including those that may operate outside of conscious awareness. Through this process, psychotherapy can help reduce symptoms, relieve distress, and improve overall emotional well-being.
Psychotherapy may also benefit individuals who feel a loss of meaning in their lives or who are seeking a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment.
