Born in Tokyo/Chiba, Japan. Graduated from Chuo University with a degree in psychology and studied at Temple University (Philadelphia, USA) to obtain a master's and a doctorate degree in psychology. Holds licenses from New York and Pennsylvania and has been practicing for more than 30 years.
Dr. Suzuki specializes in the treatment of anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive, trauma, depressive mood disorders, insomnia, intercultural adjustments, interpersonal relationships including international marriage, and age-related issues. She also emphasizes the psychological effects of physical illness and the interaction of psychological problems on the body since the mind and body are connected.
Therapeutic approach: based on cognitive-behavioral therapy. The approach of cognitive-behavioral therapy is that “What we think affects our bodies, emotions, and behaviors”, “The way we think, feel, and act is learned from the living environments and can be unlearned and relearned or changed", and “Focus on identifying and solving problems. " Utilize other psychotherapy approaches to help solve problems as needed.
Dr. Suzuki is a member of JAMSNET, the Medical and Mental Health Network. It provides support to Japanese residents in the US, and to Tohoku, Japan after the great earthquake.

Originally from Osaka, Japan, Sayomi has devoted more than 20 years to nursing, gaining extensive experience across diverse settings including the Emergency Department, Level 1 Trauma Center, Surgical Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Rehabilitation Hospital. These years of practice shaped her deep recognition of how profoundly mental health influences overall well-being.
In 2018, she shifted her focus to psychiatry, working in both adult and pediatric psychiatric emergency departments and inpatient units. After earning her ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Sayomi has been committed to delivering care that is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and holistic. Her patient-centered approach reflects her dedication to supporting individuals through their unique challenges and fostering safe, supportive environments where healing and understanding can take place.
